You're in the cellphone business now, or an ex-Pentagon officer joins Samsung

Difficult to say if that's a step up or down. Terry Halvorsen, who held a position of Chief Information Officer for the US Department of Defense, has taken up the position of Samsung's executive vice president. Mr. Halvorsen has a history of working for military; he was a CIO in the US Department of the Navy as well as the deputy commander in the warfare division of the United States' naval network. While not being a feet-on-the-ground commando, Halvorsen is said to have much experience with electronic security solutions. According to the sources, his job will be that of a security advisor to Samsung's CEO, JK Shin, supposed to help with the ” expansion of Samsung’s security segment in the US and Europe”.
